Below you find a list of the most beautiful places on El Hierro, those which are really worth seeing. For your convenience they are divided into five smaller areas - separate zones.


El GolfoEl Golfo

This picturesque northern coast of the island stretching from the famous for its medicinal sulfur waters Poze de la Salud, until the rocks of Roques de Salmor. There are many cozy bays and natural, volcanic swimming pools guaranteeing the pleasant and safe bath.

ValverdeValverde

This is the most important economic zone of the island. Here is located its capital and the administrative center - Valverde, as well as the airport and harbour, which are necessary to maintain the connections with the rest of the world. This area includes also many places and objects originated from the first settlers - Bimbaches which are significant for the current residents. Moreover, along the entire coast stretching cosy bays and swimming pools encouraging to the bath.

FronteraFrontera

This broad zone, located in the same center of the island, is the most mountainous and green part of El Hierro. Here, among the beautiful forests of Laurisilva lead the most interesting routes, and from situated on the impressive altitudes miradors extends gorgeous views in all directions.

La RestingaLa Restinga

This southern part of El Hierro is a natural reserve Reserva Marina de Mar de las Calmas. Waters here are calm and place perfect for swimming and diving. In the western parts, in the area of El Julan, has been created the archeological zone, where was discovered the richest collection of the petroglyphs engraved on the rocks originated from the pre-Hispanic times.

La DehesaLa Dehesa

La Dehesa is an area which occupies the western part of El Hierro. Apart from the unique volcanic beaches (Arenas Blancas and Verodal) here are also many places significant for the local residents, places connected with their culture, history, beliefs and traditions.
