Playa del Verodal is located in the western part of El Hierro, in municipio of La Frontera, close to the Faro de Orchilla lighthouse.


It's undoubtedly the most untypical and, at the same time, the largest beach on the whole island: picturesque situated at the foot of the high cliff, the only one with a natural sand. Moreover, this sand, volcanic in origin, characterizes by an amazing reddish colour.


Due to the very strong sea streams and big waves that occurs in this place, it is necessary to keep special caution while swimming. Nevertheless this beach has a pretty good interest, and when the sea is calm it's a really unusual and pleasant place.
Close to the beach are located all the facilities necessary to organize a picnic or a barbecue, and arranged around rustic tables invite to rest and spend a nice day on a fresh air.

By a road along the northern coast you should go in the direction to the west and behind Arenas Blancas turn right into the marked, sandy, bumpy road, which leads you to the beach.
