POZO DE LAS CALCOSAS

Pozo de las Calcosas is situated on the northern coast of El Hierro, close to El Mocanal, in municipio of Valverde.

Here are located two natural, stone swimming pools, which are neighbouring with the ancient settlement, preserved to nowadays in nearly unchanged form. Houses are built from the stones and covered with a straw roofs, they were very carefully restored by theirs todays owners. This village is inhabited only in summers and in the weekends. The only access leads through the very narrow path, steeply down the cliff.

How to get?

From Valverde you should go in the direction to El Golfo and in El Mocanal turn into the local road that leads toward the sea, and certainly, to the same Pozo de las Calcosas.
